The great part about our website is how easy it is for you to submit your artwork. Here are a few things to keep in mind while you get it ready.
File Types
SCREEN PRINTING:
Ideally, we would like to have vector or line art for screen printing. This format can be created using Adobe Illustrator or Corel Draw programs. The formats associated with these two programs are typically AI, CDR, EPS and PDF files. We realize that not everyone has access to these two professional graphic design programs. So if you have something a little less professional, we can still probably work with it. We just may need a little extra time and artistic license to reproduce the artwork. Depending on your order size and garment choice, we may suggest DIRECT TO GARMENT printing if your file is too detailed or there are other complications that would make for poor logo quality with screen printing.
EMBROIDERY:
Creating a sew or stitch file is completely different than creating a graphic file for printing or the internet. Because the process entails redrawing the image and converting it into a language that the embroidery machines can understand, the requirements for artwork is much less detailed. Any JPG, BMP, TIFF or similar file will work for embroidery. As with screen printing, the file size should be at least 50kb, but occasionally we can work with smaller file sizes. The only note that should be made about artwork for embroidery is that because the thread is only so thin, small detail cannot be reproduced. If your artwork has problems with small detail, we will contact you prior to digitizing to go over your options.
Design Limits
TRADEMARKS and COPYRIGHTS:
Unfortunately, we are unable to reproduce trademarked logos and layouts. We can make adjustments and changes to a copyrighted logo so that it is reproducible. As long as the final graphic is at least 15% changed, there should be no infringement on a copyrighted image.
GRAPHIC LIMITATIONS:
While we can work with many different formats, there are some limitations to the quality of image we can successfully reproduce. An image must typically be at least 50kb in size in order for us to enlarge it and reproduce the detail. Anything less than 50kb in size, usually isn’t clear enough to make out the detail. If you want to use an image from the internet, select LARGE picture size in the Google Image search.
